Boat Cards – Done!

Since our last name isn’t the easiest to remember (or pronounce, or spell), and the boat name and nickname Smitty, is pretty popular, especially here in Boston with its large Irish-immigrant population, we have decided to order Boat Cards.

Smitty boat card

Since we are still land-based (unfortunately), we have stuck with basic info.  On the back (not shown) we have included email and phone # as well as the Mark Twain quote as appears on our home page.  Once we are cruising, we will update the cards to include our MMSI # and most likely a picture of our dog Summer.  The font used for the name on our boat is pretty unique, so I included a picture of the hull on the card.

I am looking forward to making new friends as we hand these out at the upcoming Boston boat show.  We will be at the CANE (Catalina Association of New England) booth from 12-4 on Feb. 22, 2014.

  1. Nice card!
Boston Boat Show…. OK, now I’m jealous and nostalgic.
I’m nowhere close to being Irish, but I did live on Bunker Hill St for a few years.

    • LOL. Lived on Bunker Hill St., remember the Boston Boat Show and WBCN, lived through 10 winters (during the Tip O’Neil days?). Yet somehow you think you don’t deserve the title of Bostonian?

Thanks for the comment on the card. My Bride designed and order them and did this (her first) post.

      Fair winds,

      • True. And not only that. I’ve slam danced a few times at the “Rat” and “the Channel” and spilled my onion soup all over a bar when “…and D.J. steels the ball…!”
        Hmmm, I am worthy

  2. Nice card. One, fun, step closer to the goal!
